How Ark Survival Evolved Devs Screwed Over One of Their Most Loyal Players

Supporting a game as a service certainly has its challenges, but making sure you fix critical bugs and exploits is a pretty crucial part of it.

They don't seem to want to fix one specific exploit in their game, instead, they are taking a very different approach, they're banning players who are complaining about it...well that's one way to do it.

Meshing is a technique used in Ark Survival Evolved to exploit the game, put simply, It's the act of glitching through a wall or gaining access to the mesh outside of the regular map, allowing them to attack and destroy enemy bases easily by bypassing through defenses.

There are many techniques used in order to gain access to the mesh, by using a chair right up close to the wall, using narcotics to knock yourself out logging out and log back in, and climbing through tiny holes using climbing picks.

It's something that you have been able to do in Ark Survival Evolved for pretty much since the launch of the game back in 2017, An Ark YouTuber decided to make a video detailing of the methods of accessing the mesh in a video posted on youtube.

The aim of the video was to raise awareness for the glitch had been the victim of meshing on numerous occasions, including when his base was attacked using the mesh technique recently where he lost hours and hours of work in the process.

He made many recommendations on ways to fix this in the video in order to stop people meshing and ruining the game for the players.
His Recommendations were :
1- get rid of the climbing pick
2- get rid of the sleeping bags
3- get rid of the chair
4- make all mesh inside no build zone
5- no cryo while the player is grabbed
and so more

In response to the video, wild card studios did what any respectable games development studio would do in this situation, and they fixed the game.
....hold it there, they didn't do that at all, instead, they issued the YouTuber who made this video with a GLOBAL BAN from playing Ark

This guy got angry because he made a video showing the problem and giving his suggestions on how to fix this problem, and the Ark, Instead of fixing this problem which has been in the game since it launched, they ban him from playing the game because he is raising awareness of it.

Ok no that's not right, That's not how you do it.

What wild card studios didn't realize is this is the internet, and trying to hide something usually doesn't work because one thing the internet doesn't accept is people trying to cover up their own incompetence.

The YouTuber went back to youtube and posted a video explaining why he was globally banned, the video has over 330 thousand views, click here to watch the video.

Then wild card realized that they could not contain the spread of this stench any longer, so they unbanned him on Wednesday and addressed the issue in a blog post in their community forums.

Lead community satiric wrote "upon further review of the situation involving H.O.D Gaming, we felt that it was not deserving of a permanent ban"
"There are established methods for escalating exploits to the development team that exist to prevent the spread of information to the general public, the more widely known exploit is, the more likely it is to be exploited, in these instances, you should file your report on the SurviveTheArk website"
"We want to make sure that everyone enjoys their experience on our official network and will continue to take exploit matters seriously"

So wild card blamed the issue for the guy who ratted them out instead of having responsibility for they're broken game.

It's like they think the problem here is people knowing the issue.

It's like you cheated on someone and get caught, you blame them for looking through all the sexy pictures and messages.
